Spring Comes Anyways

Wild times we are living in. Our daily routine hasn’t changed as much as some, but there is now ample time for wandering around the farm. It’s really showing off this time of year.

You wouldn’t notice a pandemic here. Everything here is as it should be. The pecan trees are doing what pecan trees always do in spring: budding out to bloom. Everything here is verdant and bursting with life—very pretty considering the circumstances. The trees are starting the annual ceremony of bearing fruit, like they have been for decades. Without any concern for our problems, nature is proceeding. Patterns are deeply rooted in a farm. We can look to them each season for marking time, for keeping hope, for stability.

Cabin fever could be causing some philosophizing, but there seems to be a takeaway here. Please stay safe, look after your loved ones, and follow every CDC guideline: but keep the faith, and keep growing.
